    I think a discussion on how we keep track of contributions and recognize contributors would be helpful.

    I completely agree, Jen. Recognition is often something brought up by new contributors at Meetups and it would be great to have a consistent message.

    I’m hoping this will include contributions outside of core, as well (subtitles, Codex editing, support forums, Meetups, translations, etc.). There are a lot of folks doing great work outside of core who are worthy of recognition.

    @morganestes: Yes, when I say contributor I mean all the groups on make.wordpress.org.
