Apart from the WordPress Core, there are various products, services and platforms from the WordPress ecosystem that need some love from contributors. For example, the WordPress.org sites, GlotPress, Rosetta, the Trac project for the WordPress Core, even BuddyPress and bbPress to some extent – all of them need contributors and the participation there is definitely lower, whilst it’s easier to get contributions in.

I would be happy to see a landing page such as make.wordpress.org that lists all of the projects around WordPress that need more contributors – which may include: developers, designers, translators, documentation experts and so forth. Some of those are listed in different areas of the WordPress.org site or specific for few of the meta sites, but active contributors may be happy to support other projects as well.

Mario: I’d suggest renaming this as Sister Projects, since you are talking about things that are not actually in the WP project, but related, which is different from wp contribution vectors.

Hi Jen, I do agree, not sure I have editor capabilities here for the topic – happy to change the title and discuss it with everyone interested.

Most of these are already, although maybe not clearly listed in the projects current descriptions at https://make.wordpress.org/

    – WordPress.org sites <- This is meta https://make.wordpress.org/meta/
    – Rosetta <- This is Polyglots (and also kind of meta) https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/
    – Trac <- This is meta https://make.wordpress.org/meta/

And maybe adding each of these to the existing list at https://make.wordpress.org/
    – GlotPress <- https://make.wordpress.org/glotpress
    – BuddyPress <- https://buddypress.org
    – bbPress <- https://bbpress.org
    – Jetpack <- https://jetpack.me

I think after clicking any one of the links via https://make.wordpress.org/ you should be easily able to find out more about the project rather then just landing at the projects P2, an example would be meta, highlighting the meta handbook https://make.wordpress.org/meta/handbook/ and improving the handbook would be helpful, a blue “welcome” box for meta similar to other projects would also help https://make.wordpress.org/meta/handbook/
